Text Box: History of Blue Star Basketball
Blue Star Invitational Camps were started in 1981 with the intention of giving female basketball players the opportunity to compete against the world’s top talent on a national stage in front of college coaches.
The Regional Blue Star Skills Academy’s are designed to properly develop and raise Grade school, Jr. High and High school athlete’s competition level. They are a crucial step in preparing an athlete for the college recruiting experience.
Blue Star College Showcases recognize the importance of spring/summer/fall exposure in front of college coaches.  For almost 30 years, Blue Star showcases have been considered the nation’s premier events in high school basketball.
Blue Star has the largest database of women’s college basketball coaches at all levels (D1-3, NAIA & JC) in the country. This enables us to be the bridge between prospect teams and college recruiters.
For over 25 years Blue Star has been one of the most influential organizations in selecting and advising such publications rankings and listings as found in The Sporting News, USA Today, Gatorade Circle of Champions and McDonalds All American Team just to name a few. These rankings and evaluations are part of our national Blue Star Report available to media & colleges across the country.

« Sophomore Class: We will attempt to place the player in the best possible competitive setting reflecting the players’ skill, maturity & developmental needs. We will then focus on optimizing exposure to potential college recruitment.

« Freshman and Under Class: The player is initially placed by talent level with an emphasis on skill & system development, while always maintaining a highly competitive environment.

« 4th-7th Grade: The program will concentrate mainly in skill & competitive development areas Teams will play in AAU level tournaments & compete for AAU championships.

Carolina Belles Coaches Responsibilities

1. Teach the game of basketball according to the clubs philosophy during practices & games.

2. Provide every opportunity for each player to develop her skills in a disciplined, positive &fast paced environment.

3. Provide information & playing exposure to college recruiters & coaches as long as the player remains with the club.

4. The Carolina Belles do not allow parents to coach their child except in an assistant capacity. Then only after the parent has spent sufficient time working with other players, away from their child, to satisfy the staff they have more than their child’s interest in mind.

Our Players Creed...

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” —Aristotle

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” —Aristotle

Our coaching philosophy…

Teach techniques that the player is not comfortable executing in their current team setting...

...We strongly believe if the player will take our advanced instruction & consistently practice it independently to perfection, they will begin to confidently execute these techniques on their own within 6 months.
